The Festival of Media LatAm Awards shortlist is announced today, revealing that OMD has topped the shortlist with 17 campaigns out of the 110 shortlisted in total. Starcom MediaVest has 11 campaigns shortlisted, with MediaCom and Mindshare tying on eight. Arena Media achieved seven nominations. Far from focusing on the big media agencies only, other independent, digital and ad tech companies who made it to the shortlist include: AdsMovil, Africa, Nobox, Pereira & O’Dell, SapientNitro Talent and Teads. ?There were 20 categories open this year, including new categories to reflect developments in the industry: Best Use of Native Advertising, Best Use of Programmatic Technology and Best Use of Video. Media owners also get their chance to shine in the newly-created Media Vendor of the Year category, with Clear Channel, Discovery, ESPN, Sony Pictures Television Networks and Viacom International Networks all making the grade. ?A total of 54 brands made 2015’s shortlist, up from 48 on 2014. Coca-Cola won nine places, while SABMiller achieved six nominations and Visa five. In terms of standout campaigns, four have made the shortlist across four separate categories – Visa’s ‘So Far Yet So Close’, Zapaterias Coban’s ‘Shiny Lessons’, SABMiller’s ‘Entre Panas (Among Fellas)’, and Coca-Cola’s ‘Make Someone Happy’. ?The jury that selected the campaigns was carefully selected to reflect a mix of clients, agencies, media owners and ad tech companies from across the region. Forty-five senior leaders took part in the first round ?of judging, reviewing and scoring the submitted written case. The esteemed judges included:

It is the finale to the Festival of Media LatAm conference held in Miami for senior media execs and marketers on 23-25th September 2015, providing a unique platform to learn, network, be inspired by one another and discuss the most pertinent issues to the industry. It includes an Academy learning programme for more junior team members, plus Media Sparks revealing exciting start-ups. The awards winners’ party will be held on the last evening of the event, Friday 25th September 2015, when the winners will be announced. The party will be the biggest, most exciting celebration for the media industry in LatAm. Held at Story, Miami’s premier high-energy nightclub on Collin’s Avenue in Miami, more than 300 of media’s leaders and brightest thinkers will gather to celebrate the best talent LatAm has to offer. Guests can look forward to hearing the winners announced, followed by dancing, a light show, a DJ with a state-of-the-art sound system and partying into the early hours of the morning.
